Minister Quevedo: when we talk about the oil market we look toward the future and the stability of the peoples

Caracas.- "From Venezuela we have seen the oil market for the benefit of our peoples, highlighting humanism, solidarity and complementarity”, said People’s Minister of Petroleum and President of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), Manuel Quevedo, while speaking at the Ministerial Panel of Egypt Petroleum Show’s Strategic Conference: “Inspiring, leading and creating opportunities that will transform the global energy landscape”.

He spoke about the efforts undertaken by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, aimed at improving the quality of life of the poor, pointing out at the support provided to the Caribbean islands that do not have sufficient resources to access the oil market. And the participation of Caracas in historic agreements, such as the OPEC and non OPEC Declaration of Cooperation.

"This is an initiative that has given great lessons to humankind, where countries inside and outside OPEC got together for a common interest: restore balance to the world oil market”, he said.

He also highlighted the visionary and futuristic nature of Venezuela, the homeland of Bolívar and Chávez, with regard to the oil market.

The panel focuses on “supporting global progress to create collaboration and partnerships that help drive forward the global energy industry, foster progress, create new policies and provide encouragement; developing international frameworks to create growth, sustainable development and opportunity to help overcome country specific and industry challenges; and implementing, structuring and integrating visionary global initiatives that empower and optimize the oil and gas sector, strengthening the industry’s economic fundamentals and achieving a sustainable and successful energy future”.

Minister Quevedo shared the panel with his counterparts Tarek El Molla, from the Arab Republic of Egypt; Mustapha Guitouni, from Algeria; and David Mahlobo, from South Africa.

The Egypt Petroleum Show is the largest oil and gas exhibition in North Africa, offering the unique opportunity to establish oil and gas partnerships with countries and companies from around the world.
